Her clothes and hair don’t suit her anymore. The dogs who live upstairs are no longer a terror. She wants to throw a party—this from a girl who hardly ever spoke to her classmates before. There’s no more sadness in her life; she’s bursting with happiness.
But something still feels wrong to Rose. Because until very recently, she was an entirely different person—a person who’s still there inside her, just beneath the thinnest layer of skin.

Review: To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han

To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
Series: To All The Boys I've Loved Before #1
Publication Date: April 15, 2014
Publisher: Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers
A Young Adult novel
Pages: 355
Genre: Contemporary, Romance

Lara Jean keeps her love letters in a hatbox her mother gave her.
They aren't love letters that anyone else wrote for her, these are ones she's written. One for every boy she's ever loved—five in all. When she writes, she can pour out her heart and soul and say all the things she would never say in real life, because her letters are for her eyes only. Until the day her secret letters are mailed, and suddenly Lara Jean's love life goes from imaginary to out of control.

One of the cutest books that I have read in quite sometime. Contemporary is normally a genre that I sparsely read from, usually saving it when I crash and burn from other genres like fantasy. It's a vacation for me. A cute, quirky vacation.

Blog Tour Top 5 + Giveaway: The Cresswell Plot

The Cresswell Plot by Eliza Wass
Publication Date: June 7, 2016
Publisher: Disney-Hyperion
A Young Adult novel
Pages: 272
Genre: Contemporary, Mystery
Amazon | B&N | Indiebound | iBooks | The Book Depository

The woods were insane in the dark, terrifying and magical at the same time. But best of all were the stars, which trumpeted their light into the misty dark.
Castella Cresswell and her five siblings—Hannan, Caspar, Mortimer, Delvive, and Jerusalem—know what it’s like to be different. For years, their world has been confined to their ramshackle family home deep in the woods of upstate New York. They abide by the strict rule of God, whose messages come directly from their father.
Slowly, Castley and her siblings start to test the boundaries of the laws that bind them. But, at school, they’re still the freaks they’ve always been to the outside world. Marked by their plain clothing. Unexplained bruising. Utter isolation from their classmates. That is, until Castley is forced to partner with the totally irritating, totally normal George Gray, who offers her a glimpse of a life filled with freedom and choice.
Castley’s world rapidly expands beyond the woods she knows so well and the beliefs she once thought were the only truths. There is a future waiting for her if she can escape her father’s grasp, but Castley refuses to leave her siblings behind. Just as she begins to form a plan, her father makes a chilling announcement: the Cresswells will soon return to their home in heaven. With time running out on all of their lives, Castley must expose the depth of her father’s lies. The forest has buried the truth in darkness for far too long. Castley might be their last hope for salvation.
First off, I wanted to say happy book birthday to The Cresswell Plot and the magnificent author, Eliza Wass. Such a pleasure having the tour stop on this little blog on a joyous occasion. Congratulations, and welcome to Storybook Slayers. Now let's get down to our top 10 (actually top 5) tour stop with a giveaway to follow!
